I am running for re-election to the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education in 2008 because we must continue to move forward to ensure every school is a good school because every child counts.

You helped me become a member of the Board of Education at San Diego Unified School District in 2004. We received almost 166,000 votes and won 94% of all precincts citywide. The public mandate then was for a return to academic common sense, civility on the Board, to find an educator for Superintendent, fiscal restraint and responsibility and increased parent involvement in children's education.  These goals were accomplished.

There is more to do. I will need your help to continue to move our schools and our school district forward.
